Laws are set by the Alabama State Congress and form the base from which the Rules/Administrative Code is developed by the Hearing Instrument Dealers Board to insure the Laws are carried out to protect the citizens of our state.

Changes to the Code of Alabama 1975, Chapter 14 Title 34 were successfully submitted and passed in both the House and the Senate and was signed into law by the Governor in April 2016. These revised law changes, which serve to meet the current needs of the Hearing Instrument Dealers Board (HIDB) to operate administratively, economically, technically, and educationally in today's society. The laws became effective July 6, 2016. Additionally, the Administrative Code has also undergone revisions to match the Alabama Laws as part of the function of the Hearing Instrument Dealers Board and became effective August 26, 2016.
